Our Faith

Bottisham, Lode, Stow-cum-Quy, Swaffham Bulbeck and Swaffham Prior
Anglesey Group of Parishes Benefice of Five Churches near Cambridge

God calls us to be an inclusive Church. The Generous and visible people of Jesus Christ

A church which is caring and supportive, allowing everyone to explore their beliefs and express their faith in Jesus Christ.

All are welcome whatever their age, economic power, gender, mental health, physical ability, race or sexuality.

God asks us to reflect his nature in our behaviour and relationships:

  • We are to love and serve one another, working for justice and peace across the world.

  • With God’s help and guidance, we are to build God’s kingdom believing that every person matters and can make a difference.

  • The scriptures reveal God’s nature and presence in the world. We are to grow in faith by studying the scriptures and sharing our faith journey with one other.

  • Worship and prayer build a closer relationship with God and a deeper understanding of his presence. Prayer and worship also draw us together as a community.

  • We are called to be imaginative and creative in sharing God’s love with others and this calling belongs to everyone in the household of faith.

  • The Holy Spirit is active in each Christian life and in the world. We are learning to recognise that Spirit and listen for God’s voice.

  • We follow a God of second chances. When we go wrong or make poor choices God forgives us and helps us to begin again. We are called to reflect this same spirit in our relationships with others.
